A Few Thoughts on 2012

Hey guys. So 2012 is almost over. Heck, for some, it is over. So, like last year, I'm just gonna post some thoughts on the state of Pixar in 2012. Brave came out and got mediocre reviews. Not Cars 2 bad, but it still has the third-lowest RT score ahead of Cars 1-2. It was a box office success, but there were better animated films to come out (cough, cough Wreck-It Ralph, cough, cough), so I'm not calling an Oscar here. Meanwhile, John Carter came out and got poor reviews and poor BO performance. A lot of people heaped a lot of the blame on Andrew Stanton, and, as a director, he deserves some blame, but not all of it. In the rest of the movie world, it was a hugely successful year. The Avengers met every expectation and was AMAZING. The Dark Knight Rises had its flaws, but was still pretty good. The Hunger Games rocked. It was a very successful year. We must now look ahead to 2013. The main thing is Monsters University. I am way excited for it and I hope everyone loves it as much as they loved Monsters Inc. Dan Scanlon deserves this shot and I'm hoping for the best. For the rest of the moviesphere, 2013 is bright. Iron Man 3, The Great Gatsby, Star Trek Into Darkness, Man of Steel, Pacific Rim, Percy Jackson 2, Thor 2, Catching Fire, Frozen, The Hobbit Part 2, Anchorman 2, the Tom Hanks as Walt Disney movie, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty all due in 2013 and I can't wait. So, thanks for reading. I definitely plan on actually using this blog much more in 2013 than I did in 2012, so stick around.
